How to prepare for your first visit with a new doctor

· 4 min read

A short checklist so you leave the clinic with answers, not more questions.

A first visit is when your doctor builds the picture of your health. The more complete that picture, the better the advice you get.

Bring a list of the medicines you take, with doses, including vitamins and supplements. Photos of the boxes work too.

Gather recent lab results, scans and reports. If they are already in your app, you can show them on your phone.

Write down your symptoms: when they started, what makes them better or worse, and what you have already tried.

Prepare your top three questions before you go in. Visits are short, and it is easy to forget the one thing you came for.
